🚌 We're building the most useful AI assistant for K12 educators.
Coteach plugs directly into the curricula and assessment data that teachers already use, so it can help with the hard parts of the job — internalizing tomorrow's lesson, differentiating for the students who need it, building targeted supports, and a lot more. Tens of thousands of teachers across 1,000+ districts use Coteach today, and we're just getting started.

🔬Why work at Coteach?
Great classrooms need brilliant teachers. At Coteach, we’re building tools that help teachers do their best work by bringing together curriculum, product, research, and deep partnership with schools. A few threads we’re proud of:
- Math diagrams that are actually correct. Accurate diagrams are hard for frontier models, so we built the leading K12 diagram pipeline. We’ve generated nearly a million diagrams, built evals to maintain quality, and published on the topic: MathemaTikZ (ACM Learning @ Scale, 2025), the first large-scale dataset of K12 math diagrams, and DiagramIR (Math-AI Workshop, NeurIPS 2025), a low-cost eval pipeline.
- Understanding how teachers really use curricula. With the Stanford EduNLP Lab, we're running the largest systematic study to date of how teachers adapt curriculum materials, grounded in the Coteach dataset. It builds on our BJET 2025 paper, which laid the groundwork for this work and showed the potential for AI-assisted curriculum modification.
- Eval infrastructure the field is missing. We work with expert teachers and directly with frontier labs, including a partnership with Anthropic, to build K12-specific evals and MCPs that make models useful in classrooms.
- Designing for agents inside real school systems. How do you make an agent earn trust, hold a quality bar teachers rely on, and adapt to a specific classroom and district? These are the kinds of knotty, unsolved design problems we like. We ship prototypes to real users most weeks and spend a lot of time in schools.
- Trusted inside the country's largest school systems. We're a core implementation partner for NYC Public Schools — the country's largest school system — and working statewide with partners like Rhode Island. Tens of thousands of teachers across 1,000+ districts use Coteach today.
- Backed by leaders in the space. Coteach is incubated at Teaching Lab Studio and partnered with organizations like the Gates Foundation, Learning Commons, and Illustrative Mathematics.
☕️ Life at Coteach
We're a friendly, fast-moving team obsessed with supporting the essential work teachers do every day.
We're distributed but very connected — we hop on Zoom daily, and we spend a lot of our time in schools, learning directly from the partners we serve. Our NYC-based teammates share an office space, and the whole team comes together for retreats every couple of months.

We're scrappy and have a get-things-done mindset, but we're also deeply research-driven — every decision is grounded in what we hear and see in classrooms. We're thoughtful about how we use coding agents in our own workflows, leaning on them to test, learn, and iterate faster than we otherwise could.
